Rattler Rub Salmon

Seafood is one of our favorite cuisines and is a perfect vehicle for Rattler Rub. Whether cooking shrimp, scallops, lobster, or fish, the spice and sweetness of the rub balances perfectly and creates a golden crust that highlights the flavors. Salmon is a healthy weekday option, and this recipe can be cooked on a stove top, on the grill, in the oven or even in an air fryer.

Ingredients

  • 1 – 1½ pounds of fresh salmon, left in one large filet or sliced into 6 oz individual filets
  • 1 – 2 tablespoons of olive oil
  • 1 – 2 tablespoons of Rattler Rub
  • Juice of one lemon

Directions

Before seasoning any piece of seafood, pat each piece dry with a paper towel. Cover the salmon on both sides with olive oil. Once covered with oil, sprinkle both sides of the fish with Rattler Rub. Let the seasoned salmon sit at room temperature for fifteen minutes.

If cooking in an air fryer or oven, place the salmon on an oven tray or in air fryer basket, skin side down. If the salmon has been cut into smaller filets, be sure to leave space between the filets so that they do not overcrowd each other. Pre-heat the oven/air fryer to 400F and cook the salmon for 8-12 minutes, or until the preferred doneness. For well-done, give the salmon the full 12 minutes.

If cooking on a stove top, heat an oven proof pan to medium-high, until lightly smoking. Pour a tablespoon of oil into the pan and swirl around until oil coats the pan. Place the salmon flesh side down in the pan and let sear for four-five minutes. Flip the salmon and cook skin side down for two minutes. Place the whole pan into a 400F oven and finish cooking for an additional 5 minutes, or until the preferred doneness

Once cooked, place the salmon on a serving tray and cover with fresh lemon juice before serving.
